C.M.R, also known as the consignment note, regulates the transport of goods of any kind by trucks.
The countries that have addressed the CMR convention and where it is mandatory to complete a CMR are: Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic , Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Albania, Armenia, Hungary, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan.
The consignment note (CMR) must contain the following data:
a) place and date of its preparation;
b) name and address of the sender;
c) name and address of the carrier; d) the place and date of receipt of the goods and the place provided for its release;
e) name and address of the recipient;
f) the current name of the nature of the goods and the type of packaging, and for dangerous goods, their generally recognized name;
g) number of parcels, special markings and their numbers;
h) the gross weight or the quantity expressed in this way of the goods;
i) expenses related to transport (transportation price, accessory expenses, customs duties and other expenses incurred from the conclusion of the contract until release);
j) the necessary instructions for customs and other formalities;
k) the indication that the transport is subject to the regime established by this convention and no other clause to the contrary.
If applicable, the waybill must also contain the following information:
a) prohibition of transshipment;
b) the expenses that the sender takes upon himself;
c) the total of the refund amounts to be collected upon release of the goods;
d) the declared value of the goods and the amount representing the special interest upon release;
e) the sender's instructions to the carrier regarding the insurance of the goods;
f) the agreed term in which the transport must be carried out;
g) list of documents handed over to the carrier.
3. The parties may insert in the consignment note any other indication that they consider useful.
